QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

David Wright began his professional consulting career with John Carpenter & Associates, P.C. (JCAA) in 1982. Mr. Wright rejoined JCAA in 1994, after gaining diversified engineering design and management experience with Stanley D. Lindsey & Associates, Ltd. and Lockwood Greene Engineers, Inc. Mr. Wright and Mr. Carpenter formed Carpenter Wright Engineers, P.L.L.C. to continue to provide structural engineering services to our clients and the community. David Wright provides executive management of the operations of CWE, and oversees the company’s Risk Management program. Mr. Wright also directs CWE’s forensic services such as investigations, technical reports and expert testimony for litigation.

Mr. Wright's thirty-plus years of experience covers a wide array of applications, but he is recognized as a specialist in mission critical data centers, industrial and manufacturing facilities with an emphasis in rubber, chemical, and metals processes, warehouses and distribution centers, forensic and failure investigations, and historical restoration projects. Mr. Wright's research, publication and presentation topics have included structural bracing, concrete fiber reinforcement, concrete slab construction techniques and quality control, financial and data management for the engineering design office, and project quality control including peer review procedures.

Mr. Wright is Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Tennessee Technological University, serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for the College of Engineering at Tennessee Tech, and is a member of TTU’s “Academy for Renaissance Engineering”. David was honored as “Engineer of Distinction” by Tennessee Tech in 2010 and as “Outstanding Engineering Alumnus” in 2014. Mr. Wright is a guest lecturer at Vanderbilt University and Tennessee Tech University on the topics of Engineering Ethics, Project Quality Control, Financial Management for Engineers, and Design Office Management. He has previously served as the Chairman of the Engineering Management Technical Group for the Tennessee Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a Past-President of the Nashville Branch of ASCE.
